Adrianus Philippus (Adriaan) de la Rivière (1875-1941) Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts Rotterdam. Adriaan was a talented painter. In 1897 he received a Royal Subsidy for painting. This gave him the opportunity to develop himself as a painter in Germany and Italy. He mainly made oil paintings and watercolors and many strong narrative genre pieces.
