Dick van Luijn 1896-1981. Utrecht painter and graphic artist. In the twenties he was closely involved in innovations in the visual arts, among other things through his contacts with Willen van Leusden and Gerrit Rietveld. In the thirties he regularly visits Paris and immediately makes good contact with Piet Mondriaan. Together they take long walks through Paris, past museums and galleries. The contact with Mondriaan has definitively brought him back to the figurative.
