Henk Willemse (1915-1980) Painter born in Amsterdam, was one of the founders of the Amsterdam Artists Combination (AKC) that played an important role in the Amsterdam artists' circuit in the fifties of the last century. He exhibited in the Stedelijk Museum, among others, which also purchased his work. His use of color is striking, as are his powerful brushstrokes. In his later years he turned away from figuration and made work with constructivist elements.
