Cornelis (Kees) Timmer (1903-1978) was a very versatile artist: he is known as a sculptor, graphic artist, monumental artist, muralist, painter, draftsman, goldsmith and maker of mosaics. In his well-known animal pieces, Timmer often places his monkeys, dogs and other animals in large colour fields. In addition to working with animals, Timmer made figure pieces and (self)portraits. The Rijksmuseum and Boymans have work by Timmer in their collections.
