Willem Jilts Pol

In the thirties he lived in France, where he painted French and Italian landscapes. In the late thirties he left for the Dutch East Indies, where in 1940 his daughter Talitha was born in Java.
Pol lived in England from 1948 until the fifties. The last decades of his life he lived in the South of France where he died in 1988. He left behind an extensive oeuvre.
The work of Willem Jilts Pol is always very reliable due to the use of pastel colours and a fast but accurate line. Due to the typical "fifties" design, his work is highly valued by many art experts.
